Buddy breakfast 06/06/2010
 
Today we had break-fast with our buddies, my buddy is John, but he wasn't here to watch the movie. John made me two cards with drawing in front. I always read the text in the card. I played lots of games with my buddy like board games. My buddy also likes stories. He is quiet and really fun to hang out and read.
I wanted to bring in cheese balls, but my parents wouldn't let me, so she gave me a plate of sausage rolls.
The other class Gr5SM didn't do it with their buddies. We had so much food that people brought in like, Biscuits, Popcorn, Fruit, egg, Yogurt, Sausages and so much more. I had  3 or 4 plates of popcorn, two biscuits and one no bakes.

I will REALLY,REALLY miss my buddy, and I hope he will get a good buddy next year.
 
Dance conert 06/06/2010
 
On June 1st and 2nd, was the dance concert. I did Jazz for 3 years. Every year there was a dance concert for every dance, Ballet, Jazz and Hip-Hop. In a dance concert there are 2 halfs, normally the first half has a introduction called "Celebration" by Maddona.
The first half is Hip-hop and jazz. My favorite dance in the first half is, "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga.
I hate my costume, you know why? The Song is Called, " the Boy Does nothing", which meant that we are waitor's or something.
Before June 1st and 2nd we saw or Costumes, WHICH WERE... Blue French maids, and big tall blue crown. The top had three glitter Buttons on one white shirt. The Skirt is kinda normal though.
Before the proformance we have a dress rehearsal that is 3 hours, we always watch the dances in the first half a lot and the little kids. My friends, Lulu and Alice do dance too. Lulu and I always talk about Hip-Hop dances.
When it was time for the proformance to begin, the two half's split up, the first half goes and the second waits for an hour.
In the End of the second half we all have the finale.
Our dance is N.O 23, 5th in the second half, my parents watched me dance, it was hard to find them in the crowd. My parents and cousins watched me.
After the Dance concert I carried a bag of glitter, ( glitter is the best thing after the finale.) My parents always see me carrying in a bag of glitter. Its so much fun, you can reuse some of it for a party! So useful!

 
 
Blogging
I did well on blogging in Grade 5 is because I blog every 2 days, and use my blog as a Journal, and also write about Special things that are happening, or either write something that is going to happen soon.
 Blogging is one of my favorite subjects in school writing posts or entry's about school and field trips or Holidays. Writing is one of my favorite things to do at home to, writing about my cats.

One of my best detailed post's was my cousin's wedding, I did well on that entry is because it was one of my longest entry's on my blog and had a lot of pictures and had a lot of information about the wedding. My second favorite Blog post is the Kelly Clarkson Concert, it shows that I have been to see her, and my last favorite entry was the Art festival it shows that I love music and also shows that I love playing Flute, and the Buddy breakfast post.
Blogging is better than writing in a journal at home, I don't have a chance to write in it because I use my blog to replace it, and keeps track of my entry's, that I wrote in the past year.

U.O.I-

The Big exhibition was one of my best U.O.I projects so far in grade 5. We had to pick a environmentally  friendly subject in school to help the world.
In the WHOLE exhibition we have been making a presentation to Anna Wong, and also have been looking around the school trying to find different soaps that kids use, such as Walch, and other soaps, we also fond some soaps in supermarkets, and found some soaps that help the pink dolphins, so we fond biodegrable soaps.

We also went on a field trip before the exhibition, we asked questions to the people at the Dolphin watch to get some more information about the dolphins, we were really lucky to find pink dolphins groups and pairs. The baby dolphins were the hardest.
I like the exhibition is because you share the information about things that are such a big cause in earth, and also gives you an idea how to help the world.
My favorite U.O.I subject is communities, I like communities is because you can spend time with your group and have field trips. 

Mandarin-

Mandarin is one of my favorites in Hong Kong Academy. Mandarin is the second language I learned in HKA, I would never learn any other language is because,you would HAVE to start all over again with a new language then you have to be in the Begginer class and learn the basics. I am in the Standard class in Mandarin. My Mandarin teachers name is," Ding lao shi" Lao shi stands for teacher.
I've been learning mandarin for 3 years. I always showed some of my mandarin to taxi drivers if my parents need help.
Mandarin can also come in handy when you test your parents, by asking questions, or doing a sentence that is easy, we also learn by playing quizlet games like space race and scatter. I mostly play space race. Space race is better than scatter is because in scatter I always get hyper and cross, in space race it has levels. In mandarin we learn different topics, like work brothers and sisters and so on, and after learning the topic you get a test.
" 你家有几口人？“ means how many people do you have in your family?
” 我家有三口人。“ I have 3 people in my family
“ 你爸爸在哪儿工作？“ where does your dad work?
” 我爸爸在哪儿想港？“ my dad works in hong kong.

 Typing-

In typing I have improved a lot from last year. I have gone to level 11 in grade 4 to the the finish. Typing is one of my improvements through the year. Now I can type without looking, just like my mum. Typing gets easier and easier when you past levels. Some levels can be a challenge. I am proud of typing is because I have achieved my goals in grade 4.

Maths-
When I did maths in grade 5 I think I improved in many area's than last year, like multiplication and other areas, we also use matheltics to help us learn a bit more about math. My teachers also helped me with some assignments in math class. It's helped me with a lot of things like the fraction of this or rounding up numbers.
My goals for this summer is to still learn a bit more about fractions volume, and rounding up decimals.

Music-

Music is one of my favorites in school, I chose music is because I love music and it helps me with my learning or flute, my mum also helps me with counts if I make mistakes and flats and sharps that I miss in the song. My favorite performance was the art festival, I played a flute song called blue eyes. I really want to be a pro flute player when I grow up so I could play expert songs like morzart or something.
I also like choir it helps me get better at singing too. But I am better at flute, than singing. 

In the summer I will work on my flute so it could give me a start on grade 6.

Art-

Art is one of MY favorites in school too, I love art it helps me by relaxing myself, I love painting and I love drawing. Drawing helps me with ideas, when I am on holidays like trees and so on. 
My best art work was the Tingatinga, is because it is south african and it has a lot to do with south africa. 
In the summer I will paint and draw more so I can have good Ideas for grade 6.  

P.E-
P.E is something that I always improve on. I have improved on swimming. Swimming used to be hard in grade 4, but then I went in the advanced class. But I have troubles when I do back stroke, I always crash into the wall. Free style is one of my best swim strokes in swimming, I also like breathe stroke too. But I am better at free style.
Basket ball is the hardest! Its hard when you score the ball in the net.

Art Festival 05/30/2010
 
The Arts festival is mostly the Music concert. 2-5, I had a solo in the music concert right after the grade 3 recorder.
I wanted to do a solo is because played in my cousins wedding with the piano, so I wanted to do another solo again on stage to show the public, the song that I played was called,"Blue Eyes" by Elton John ( my parents favorite)

Exhibition Reflection

I think my group did well during the exhibition, we had a lot of people interested on helping the dolphins, I think thats really good because we need to try and teach people that pink dolphins need help, and a lot of support other than the pink Dolphin watch.
I am also proud of the action we toke in the school changing the soaps in the school ( well almost.)

I think I did well during the Exhibition was when I was explaining our action and what the problem was, I also did well when I explained the presentation when the V-tour team came, and answered most of the questions that people asked.
I think a lot of people got the message that pink Dolphins are having troubles in Hong Kong and how to save them.
I mostly was a communicator when I listened to peoples questions and thoughts about the exhibition.

 I think I should do next time is to try and answer most of the questions because some of the questions were very hard to answer and bits of pieces of information that we forgotten.
Next time, I should have as much information on the posters that had paragraphs other than two sentences or three.

Dragon Boating 05/27/2010
 
On the 20th of May was the Dragon boat race.
The race was held in Stanley. My Dads team was the dragon flies, we had to meet my dads team members at the the coffee shop.
My dads race was at 9:00 am and 11:00 am and 2:00pm.

Later after the 9:00 am race, everyone relaxed until the 11:00 am race.
The 11:00 race wasn't good than the other races.
I didn't stay there long because I got bored after the 11:00 am race. SO I walked home with dad.

Later Dad brought home a trophy, a golden trophy, they won the plate final!!!
 
Mothers Day 05/16/2010
 
On Sunday the 9th of May, it was Mothers day,
I made her a pop up card, ( I am good at pop up cards.) I gave her some Rasberry jam, I know it sounds weird and strange but she LOVES jam! She likes rasberys and its hard to find in Hong Kong!
 
 
The exhibition so far is going great, everyone is wearing the exhibition shirts that have the exhibition logo on it.
For my group ( Pink dolphins 2) had a lot of people asking questions about our project and our action.
We also given out the prizes that had our logo on it, we have also been telling information about the dolphins and why they are pink and how many in Hong Kong. Mostly there is 100 left in Hong Kong.
The experience of the Exhibition is great, but for a reflection I would be more organized when I double tape the Logo ( prize.)
 
 
On Saturday night, we went to Macau to see the Kelly Clarkson concert.
We had to wait a very long time because there was a band who came on stage first. The band was Rubber band. Its a Chinese band.
After the rubber Band, there was a break. A Long Break. When I was Waiting, I watched the big screen out in front and watched it for a while, Until everyone screamed, that's when Kelly clarkson got on stage and started to sing. I made a noise with my black sticks.
Just to let you know that I am a big fan of her! Well you already know that because I told you!
She is one of my favorite singers!!!
Mostly All of the songs that she sang were familiar to me. She sometimes let us sing with some songs which was really fun, because all of the people in the audience were singing along with her.
It ended at 11:00 pm, which made me sad because, one this is her last concert in Asia second she is going back to America.
